WILMINGTON. JUNE 12. IS67. Congregation of Sovereigns Sketches of JDistiogulshed Personages. Ijooking at the I extraordinary re-nnion of sovereigns and princes in Paris, attracted by the Great Exposition, it may not be inop portune to, give a short memoranda and ob servations touching those illustrious person ages who are now or recently were in the French capital : Leopold II, King of the Belgians, is thirty two years of age, and was crowned on the 10th of December, 1865. He is the grand son, on his mother's side, of King Louis Phillippe, and married in j 1833 an arch duchess of Austria, Henrietta Anne, daugh ter of the Archduke Joseph. The Queen is thirty-one, and has two daughters and a son. The sister of the King is Princess Charlotte, Empress ot Mexico ; her brother, Count de Flanders, has just married a princess of the royal family ot Prussia. He passed the first few days at the Exhibition at Paris, acting as President of the Royal Belgium Commis sion. The count is known to have taken extraordinary interest in the many marvels of the world's, fair, and he may have said with Romeo on taking leave ot it But that a joy, past joy, calls out on me, It were a grief so soon to part with thee. The King is said to bear a strong resem-. blance to Francis I. The Queen of the Belgians adds to a no ble deportment a most affable and gracious air. She is passionately fond of music and horse riding, in both of "which; arts she ex cels, and loses no opportunity of practicing them. Her Majesty arrived at 3-o'clock on Tuesday week, and at 5 she was on horse back in the Champs Elysees and the Bois de Boulogne. I George I., King of Greece, son of the King ot Denmark, and brother-in-law of the Prince ot Wales, is only twenty-two years of age. He is a fine young man, of fair complexion, thin and somewhat pale; of elggant deportment and very distinguished manners. His Majesty has already visited Paris and the Exhibition on his way to St. Petersburg, where he is about to marry a niece of the Emperor of Russia.! Queen Maria, of Portugal, daughter of Victor Emanuel, took up her abode at the Palais Royal. She is twenty years of age; and married in 18G2 King Dom Luis I., by whom she has two children. Like the Queen of the Belgians, her skill as a horse woman is much praised, ail d she is a bold and dexterious rider in tlie hunting field. Hence her. admirers have given her the ap pellation of "Queen Diana." - Prince Oscar, who has" frequently visited the Exhibition, is the second son of King Oscar I., and the grandson of the Marshal of France, Bernadotte, brother-in-law of Joseph Bonaparte, and King of Sweden in 1818. Prince Oscar, brother of the reign ing King, Charles XV., is cousin to Napo leon III., his mother having been the daugh ter of Prince Eugene, uncle to tbe Emperor of the French. "Prince Oscar is thirty-eight years old; he married in 1857, a Princess of Nassau, by whom he has had four children. He was here not only in the capacity of President of the Royal Commission of the Exhibition, but as an ardent admirer and diligent inquirer into the merits of every thing most worthy of note, accumulated from all the countries of the world, in the Champ de Mar. Prince Oscar lately super intended the trial of two small and beauti ful Sweedish steamers, which make occas ional trips with select parties, to St. Cloud. The prince was observed to wear three ribbons, one of which was that of Legion of Honor, and attached to the other two was a military medal, and a French medal, award ed for distinguished services rendered in the saving of human life. The latter especially ' attracted much curiosity, and, on inquiries being made on the subject of one of the prince's attendants, the interrogator, was politely informed that, in 18G2, being at Nice, the prince's attention was attraced by the imminent danger of a noble French family in a carriage, the horses of which were running away at full speed, and per fectly ungovernable. He threw himself at the animals heads, and, after being dragged along by them lor some distance, at length succeeded in stopping their career, and saved the lives of the party. The Andersonville League Davis to be Killed if Found on United States soil. A Washington correspondent of the Erie (Pa.) Dispatch writes as - follows, which he says he can testify to : When it was found that Davis was to go on bail, a matter which every one thVe looks upon as a, virtual discharge, the excite ment among the veteran soldiers knew " no bounds. The result had been published days before, and, half expecting it, a meet ing was privately called, at which some sixty discharged soldiers were present, who" bound thamselves sacredly together under the name of the?- Andersonville League," every member subscribing to a solemn oath that if justice failed in it duty they would take justice in their own hands. This brotherhood no man was qualified to enter but who had suffered either from wounds or imprisonment in the ' rebel pens during the war. It now extends to New York, -Philadelphia, anil Boston. While the bail was. being. arranged by the Court at Richmond on the day set tor the trial, a pa per was handed in to pa vis counsel, Charles O'Conner, ot Kew York, warning him of the existence of such a league, and naming two men inthe court room as members. ; These men were seized as soon as they left the room on a mock charge and, taken to jail, and' were not released until a week after, when Davis was in New York. It will be remembered that Davis arrived in New York during tbe night that he kept 'secluded as much as possible while at: the New York Hotel, no one being admitted but those who were personally - known to' some one of the party : that he was . suddenly removed one night from the hotel to Brooklyn, .where he remained until Ma departure ; that he left ewlVdrkidori e SuidXn tlisgtxise far Montreal, hia party , and family faUowiiig ronly when he had telegraphed them: of: hia safe arrival. When -it U understood that the brotherhood were upon hia track, and that he .was con4j Scions ot it, his strange conauci is eauy ac- countea lor. . .ccoruicg vo uic aaiu, u wug 4s he. remains on foeign ground he is safe so if is hardly probable that he : will again set foot upon the soil, of the sUnited States, at leas not until ' he feels easier in his mintl than at present. ' Asingnlarand imposing wedding cere-j mony came on at Milltord, Conn., on vea nesday evening! The groom being a Knight Templar, the knot was tied in a Masonic hall, and the happy couple wera escorted under the arch of steel' with imposing grandeur.
